Christy Gale grew up on a farm and has always loved animals. Being able to provide a home to animals in need fulfills her calling in life.
Christy and her husband Matt brought home their first two goats, Fred and Ethel, in the summer of 2017. They then adopted three pigs in fall 2018, and fell in love.
One of the original trio of pigs, Poppy, fell ill in February of 2023. Although she was rushed to Purdue vet med, she sadly passed three days later. The inexplicable nature of Poppy's illness was devastating to Christy and Matt. When they were presented with the option to foster a piglet a few weeks later, they knew they could provide for her in Poppy's honor.
Poppy's Pigtopia was founded in homage to Poppy to provide a loving forever home to pigs and other species of all kinds.
